| The purpose of the course is to develop the knowledge-based content of the analysis, study and proposal of furniture in order to support, cultivate and develop students' ability to intervene and shape the furnishings in the space through critical view and interpretation.
This is achieved through the analysis of the relationship of the furniture, the user and the specifications and needs of the space. By acquiring knowledge relating to specific uses in spaces, ways, methods of design and construction, as well as in materials and construction techniques. It is a course specialized in furniture design. The furniture ceases to be simply utilitarian, it acquires spatial and simultaneously design adequacy. Original furniture design studies are presented at the exhibition by students of the Department of Interior Architecture, Decorative Arts and Design of the Faculty of Applied Arts and Design, TEI of Athens. |
