The story of MELPOMENI HOUSE, a boutique apartment hotel in Ano Petralona, began with the desire to highlight the authenticity of Athens and the distinctive character of its vibrant neighborhoods. It was created to offer guests the feeling of an Athenian home, through an experience connected to the authentic spirit and everyday life of the city.
Its aesthetic is inspired by the principles of Athenian design: clarity, functionality, natural light, and timeless simplicity. Wood, stone, and ceramic, materials commonly found in older Athenian homes, are combined with contemporary elements, creating bright and welcoming spaces. The façade reinterprets elements of Athenian architecture, while the openings and ceramic details shape the building’s relationship with its urban surroundings.
Objects from personal collections and historical pieces add memories and stories, while elements of Greek tradition coexist with a contemporary aesthetic, giving each space character and personality.
