Set within the natural landscape of Kolymbia, Rhodes, the proposal emerges from the character of the site itself, upon which a new five-star hotel complex is conceived. Comprising twelve villas and a series of communal spaces, the development draws upon the local architectural tradition and the Mediterranean landscape, seeking to establish a seamless continuity between architecture, place, and nature. The design pursues a contemporary architectural language in which elements of traditional Rhodian architecture are reinterpreted through a restrained and modern expression, with an emphasis on authenticity, privacy, and a strong connection to the surrounding environment.
Each villa is conceived as a private retreat, with its own courtyard and swimming pool, while the communal spaces are organized around an introverted courtyard that serves as the social heart of the complex. Natural materials, earthy tones, and a human-scaled approach come together to create a contemporary hospitality experience deeply rooted in the identity of the place. The result is a new model of hospitality—quiet, authentic, and intimately connected to the landscape and architectural heritage of Rhodes.
