Silent Architecture: A Dialogue with the Land of South Crete
Altera Cave Villas is a collection of seven luxury vacation villas embedded in the rugged landscape of South Crete, overlooking the Libyan Sea. Four earth-sheltered residences are carved into the hillside, allowing the terrain to flow naturally over the built volumes, while framing unobstructed sea views from the main living spaces. Three ground-level villas complement the complex as a geometric counterpoint, sharing the same material palette and architectural language. The project celebrates a discreet, site-driven approach, where architecture becomes topography.
