The primary design gesture of the 4-star Sifnos Mine Resort, with a total area of 2,600 sq.m. and capacity of 54 beds, is the establishment of a longitudinal East–West axis that frames and accentuates the views towards Kamares Bay and the sunset. Linear stone walls define the base of the composition, anchoring the building into the rugged terrain while ensuring minimal spatial footprint. These stone masses are intersected by horizontal circulation axes that connect public and private functions. The stone podium gradually dissolves as vertical elements of compressed eucalyptus act as “fractures” opening towards the ravine, shaping the internal oasis and the ensemble of 25 suites, and expressing the transition from solid to light, in direct dialogue with the landscape and the copper mines.
