KKMK Architects transformed a structure from Santorini's early 2000s building boom into a villa project that feels born of the island itself. Their vision plays on contrasts - volcanic black and Cycladic white, sharp geometry and organic flow - drawing from the land's raw materials and its mythic past.
KKMK's redesign emphasizes the interplay between geometry and geology, drawing inspiration from Santorini itself. In the design narrative, white spaces emerge from the volcanic blackness, framing the home as a modern reflection of the island’s elemental beauty and history, while the water surface of the pool connects the space with its natural environment as a visual connection.
The villa is aimed at a high-end clientele, seeking privacy and tranquillity, away from the bustling centre of Santorini. The residence offers a private pool, private chef, gym space, outdoor cinema, and a vineyard that is maintained in the surrounding landscape.
The result seems to emerge from Santorini, imbued with its raw natural drama and eternal charm.
